Dear Station Members,

As the Maryknoll Tree has aroused a lot of public comments on Facebook, the Station Manager posted a comment on Sunday Feb 7 to invite the public to view the position of the Arborists for this disputable tree.

Facebook link for the event is:

http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1512402482#!/group.php?gid=311576555971&ref=mf

Alternatively, one may search under the heading of '救救鬼樹 (這麼有價值的鬼樹, 就這樣將她砍掉嗎?)' under Conservation Association in Facebook in HK page to find the appropriate link to enter the discussion.

As the Station Manger was doing it out of good intention & professionalism to let the public understand how Arborists would judge such a tree felling event out of science & practicality, what we were getting in return was completely out of our surprise:

" Ben Cheng

SAMMY AU 先生: I think you need to see a doctor, btw I need that your family has been in the tree fell business for a long time, that's why you just love to fell tree.

I think you have forgotten to take your medication !

I have read the other assessment from the government there are tons of spelling mistake ... Ha! professionals ..... yeah right! they didn't even learn english. btw how can they pass the exam to be an Arborist ... maybe after all it is just a stupid title without any professionalism, because they let people who don't even know how to respect living things on the earth to become an Arborist.

They also let people who have metal problem to become an Arborist just like our MR SAMMY AU .. he is one big shxx head . I saw some of the post said he is the one who wants to fell the ghost pine last July. ... See More

btw THANK YOU MR SAMMY AU to post the link here and
stick your stupid head out for me to spit on you .

The Station Manager had visited some of the most remote parts of Dark Africa when he was posted there in business during his younger days in 1980's. He did not get an insult by knocking on someone's door to present a product, with muck thrown at him for no valid reason.

As Station Mail is circulated internationally to Arborists & our supporters, blood hunt may begin on this person, along with others who insulted our profession without a valid reason, to demand for a logical explanation. This can be very serious indeed.

Feedback like above would not elevate the image of those 'Tree Lovers' in HK, nor gain any social support from our society. We do not believe HK has degraded to randomly abuse others out of self-arrogance without logics. After all, all the Station Manage has said was " Please see our professional comments at ISA HK/China Blog". No technical discussion was put forward, but only personal abuses by the respondents. Would our society support attitude like that?

Do manners, respect, discipline, logical reasoning & civilized education matter anymore in HK after 1997?

best regards,

Sammy Au

"Trees are good for the community. Trees need care like human beings. Arborists are the Tree Care Professionals."
